From Mom to Blogger: Sharing My Story, One Post at a Time

I bet everyone starts off their blog by saying 'everyone around me asked me to share this with the universe, and so I did!' Although this was truly the case with me, the thing that motivated me to actually take action and start typing was my urge to be me and share who I really am. I wanted a place where I can be me. Truly me. Unapologetically, authentically me. With my life, what I'm going through, what my opinion is and what I am all about (and will become as life goes on)...

Life is full of different phases. I’ve come to believe we all carry multiple versions of ourselves—different “characters” that emerge as we navigate this ever-changing story called life. Each version deserves a moment to be seen, understood, and reflected upon. I’ve realized how powerful it can be to pause, process, and share those moments—not just for ourselves, but for others who might be walking the same path.

When we share our stories, we create opportunities to connect. And isn’t that what makes us human? The desire to love, to be heard, and to know we’re not alone? Life is a mix of highs and lows, and what has carried me through those tough times has been the unwavering support of my family and friends, as well as the wisdom I’ve found in the words of others—whether in books, conversations, or shared stories.

Now, it’s my turn to give back. My hope is to share what’s worked for me (and even what hasn’t!) in the hope that it might bring comfort, clarity, or just a little light to someone else. This blog is my way of saying, “I hear you. I see you. You’re not alone.” Who knows where this journey will take us?

I became a mom over eight years ago. Coming from a family of avid readers, you’d think I’d have inherited the habit—but I didn’t. I could never quite focus or truly get into books. That changed when I had my son. A dear friend gifted me a short book written by a mom who shared her struggles, her uncertainties, and her triumphs. That book became a lifeline. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone and that so many others wrestle with the same questions and doubts.

That one book planted a seed in me and made me realize how powerful it can be to share our stories and experiences. It took years to get here, but I now understand that what I’ve always wanted is to give back in the same way—to be that voice or that story someone else needs. Because sometimes, all it takes is one person, one moment, or one message to change someone’s life—or at least to offer a little comfort when it’s most needed.

That book left a deep brushstroke on my life’s canvas, reshaping me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. And maybe, just maybe, this blog will be a brushstroke on someone else’s.

Here’s to the start of something meaningful.
