lucky charms

So we ran out of Oatios and I didn’t feel like driving all the way to Whole Foods in the snow. I’ve always wanted Jake to try another cereal that is available anywhere. This was the perfect time.

I scrutinized every box in the cereal aisle. He knew what he wanted. Lucky Charms. (read: SUGAR OVERLOAD)

He remembered his Uncle Jeremy who used to have them for breakfast when he stayed with us, so he asked if he could have them. Jake should have variety and fun, I convinced myself. He is after all, just a kid. So I gave in.

I guess he is so used to his plain but healthier Oatios. One try and he started picking out all the marshmallow charms and putting them away. Too “yummy”  (read: SWEET) he complained. His taste buds couldn’t handle all the sugar. Smart kid. *wink*

img_3597img_3595This makes me really happy. At least I know that Lucky Charms Cereal is safe for him. I hesitated before over concerns with wheat. We will still have Oatios, but for now, we have lucky charms without the charms.
