bug season
A stomach bug is making its way through our house. Jake has been sick since Tuesday. He was throwing up, and was so thirsty for ice cold drinks after. Then he would feel worse after they warmed in his tummy and throw up again.
We stayed home all day yesterday under a blanket, and he got loads of TLC, and extra TV time. Thankfully, the vomiting ceased, and he was able to tolerate a few pretzels and sips of Gatorade. By dinnertime, he was ready for soup. I made arroz caldo, and he ate pretty good. He was off to bed early and woke up this morning feeling a whole lot better.
I’m still amazed how he maintains an overall sunny disposition despite feeling crummy. He remains a happy kid even when sick. I’m hoping he’ll be able to eat more today, and maybe be able to do a quick run to the store with me. We need food. I postponed food shopping with him being sick.
The bug season is upon us, folks. If it hasn’t struck already, it is coming for you or someone in your family. So just be extra cautious, and don’t forget the universal precaution to keep bugs at bay – - handwashing.

Good to hear Jake is feeling a lot better !! It’s very possible some of Bianca’s bug went home with you guys last Sunday :-( she had high fever by midnight on Sunday and complaining a little of stomach ache. Off we went to her pedia on Monday, she tested negative for strep but doc suspects she has stomach bug and developing ear infection. She has been on antibiotics since and is almost back to her old active self except for a hint of stuffy nose. I’m greatly thankful everyone is feeling better now.
I hope Jake feels better soon! Knock on wood, everyone’s been healthy here so far.
