the joy of art: part two

A’s story:

“My phone rang at work and Diane Farris was on the other line.  She sounded excited. She had been trying to reach me.  I was surprised to hear from her.  It has been a year since we saw Nick’s work.  I could not wait to see his new work…..I take a quick peek. I ask Diane for a few more pictures of 2 that I was interested in.  Busy at work I could not focus on the paintings.  I had to wait ’til after.

I called Diane as soon as I got home.  I wanted to purchase “take what’s given”.  After a few minutes with her, I asked if I could sleep on my decision. With an encouragement from Janice, I sent her an email first thing…SOLD.”

Because the painting was part of Nick’s solo exhibit, we had to wait another month before we got our painting.

The crate was 110 lbs. Sent by air.

Take What’s Given
oil on canvas
54 x 65 inches

A was elated, and his smile was priceless, almost like when he first saw Nick’s work.

Art is one of his many passions.

This piece was something he truly wanted, and I’m so glad he got it.

Thank you Sonia. I wish we were there to see all his paintings. I saw a few of his earlier works last year when we were in Vancouver and they were great. Different from his recent ones.
